Good Dog Workshop is wonderful for all dogs, big, small and everything in between! My Shih Tzu and I have participated in many training sessions around the neighborhood and my little guy LOVES the play groups! Brian and Marina are both wonderful to work with. The knowledge they provide with a kind and nonjudgmental demeanor is very appreciated. I would 100% recommend them for any big or small corrections and/or training needs for your fur baby!!

Our pup is a 10 month old Tree Walker/Blue Tick Coonhound rescue who came with little history. He wasn't a difficult dog but he was stubborn, different than any dog we've had and we were totally stumped on some behaviors he started to show after being with our pack (six dogs - now seven) for 3 months.

It was important that we help Dobie's transition in his new home and we needed a professional, not someone who only helped with basic obedience. After researching the trainers in the area, and after speaking with Brian Kerchner - who really took the time to talk to me, not just throw out a price for a package - we felt Good Dog Workshop was what we needed.

During our first session with Good Dog Workshop trainer - Josh, we saw an immediate transformation with Dobie - and our 3 yr old malinois/husky mix - Roo -- whom it turns out was a little more of the challenge with this transition than Dobie.

Josh is phenomenal in his calm demeanor, training style, and extensive canine knowledge.

We will ONLY call on Josh for any future training when needed. - and will make sure that we share what a wonderful experience it was with Good Dog Workshop - with the community.

We now better understand the canine's perspective and how we are a part of their behavior and personality.

I can’t recommend Good Dog Workshop highly enough! Five stars doesn't seem adequate for the exceptional training, advice, and support they provide. Marina, Brian, and Josh have an amazing ability to break down the complexities of dog training and communicate them in such a clear, relatable way that you find yourself thinking, “Oh, of course!” They truly teach you how to “speak dog.”

I reached out for help with my 11-month-old Pit/Lab mix, who was doing well with basic training at home but struggled in public, especially around strangers and other dogs. Brian was my initial contact, and he paired me with Marina. After our first conversation, I already felt a sense of hope and excitement to get started.

During my first session with Marina, she quickly helped me understand how my leadership was affecting my dog's behavior. She answered all of my questions and provided clear, actionable guidance. What’s more, Good Dog Workshop offers pack walks and group play sessions to reinforce what we've learned, which has been invaluable for both me and my dog.

It’s clear that Marina, Brian, and Josh genuinely care about the dogs and their owners. Their passion for helping us build better relationships with our pets shines through in everything they do. I highly recommend Good Dog Workshop to anyone in need of training—they are truly a wonderful organization!

Brian was instrumental in getting our new dog Judge started on the right foot. He's about as responsive and communicative as anyone I've worked with and he's very effective at demonstrating corrective behaviors but more importantly explaining what is going through the mindset of your dog when they demonstrate certain behaviors and how we as humans can make our relationships with them as predictable as possible. We have multiple family members who are first time dog owners and it's extremely affirming to see them thinking through how they approach each situation now that we've worked with Brian. Can't recommend him high enough.

Brian was fantastic working with our 5 month old puppy. The session had just much to do with teaching us how to effectively train and condition our dog as focusing on the dog specifically.

The session included gauging her behavior and personality and then working with her on a leash. Brian then had her interact with his 3 dogs ranging in personalities. The session ends with an optional off leash period in a dog park based on the owners comfort level.

We would highly recommend Brian and the good dog workshop to anyone seeking to understand how to effectively train and communicate with their dog.

I had not had a young Lab in 13 years and forgot how strong and stubborn they can be. Tashi the Rescue Lab is about 2 years old and 70 pounds of muscle. He was difficult and I was not enjoying my walks and hikes with him. Pulling and barking at everything that moved.

We spent 90 minutes with Brian and found I needed to change a few habits and show control in ways Tashi understood. I know what I need to work on now and we should be able to meet and walk with other Good Dogs any day now.

Brian helped transform our relationship with our newly acquired 8 month old Great Pyrenees pup! Before I met Brian I was walking our frisky girl on a regular leash a few miles per day, but she still had a ton of energy and would take over at times during our outings. My goal was to have her off leash on the farm, and Brian helped us get started on that track by changing her collar and walking her on a 50' leash around the perimeter of our property. Brian knew a great deal about Great Pyr. The breed is very independent and his recommendation for a 50' leash, allows our girl to have much more autonomy, while still giving us control so that she can learn the property lines of our farm. She runs a lot on the longer leash and expends her excess energy so that she can now relax in the house. Before working with Brian, I was also reluctant to really play with our big girl because she was a bit incorrigible and strong, and she'd accidentally knock me over. Now, we are playing a lot more and she's an absolute lovey. I'm so grateful to Brian at The Good Dog Workshop for helping us get started on the right foot with our newest family member.

Had my first session with Brian and Josh today and they were phenomenal. They checked in with me through the entire session to see if I had questions. They genuinely cared about the problems that I wanted to address, and they were willing to adapt to my pace and confidence level. They provided knowledgeable insight into my reactive dog’s behavior, and gave clear direction on how to correct it. These guys are fantastic, and I highly recommend them!
